ME AND THEM

Crazy Life!

I don't make New Year resolutions for the very reason that I break them - hence why I didn't promise to post to my blog more often! And the very fact that it is 2½ weeks since I last posted proves my point!!!

And of course, I now have to think back to try to remember everything that has happened!!! Firstly, we have booked our holiday!!! Me, the girls, my Dad, Matt and Emma and Pete are going to stay in a gorgeous cottage up in the Peak District for a week in February. We know the weather is going to be very iffy, but we aren't going to get a tan, we just want to spend some time altogether and relax. So, we will be taking lots of books, games and craft stuff to do. If the weather is nice, we hope to go for some walks too, but we aren't bamking on it!!!

Before Emi went back to school, we had her parent/teacher consultation meeting. I saw all of her main teachers - Maths, English, French, Science and Music. Her report card gave her all As and *s, so I wasn't surprised to hear that she was put in top set for all of the subjects which they set them for. What did surprise me was how near the top of those sets she was! I have obviously underestimated her completely! Her Maths teacher told me that she is sitting comfortably at the top of the top set with her test results showing her as above average for a year 9 - she is only in year 7! Plus, she has made lots of new friends, developed some old friendships, and even got herself a 'boyfriend' which is all very sweet!

Alice also has herself a boyfriend, although they have been 'going out together' since October, but I have been told that it really is 'true love' - as much as it can be true love at the age of 10! lol!! She is doing really well in school too. When she told her teacher that we were going on holiday he said that he didn't have a problem with that, despite the fact that she has got her SATs tests in May because he was expecting her to get straight 5s anyway! So, we will see about that! The only thing which might affect her SATs results will be how well she is. She has had yet another bout of tonsilitis - pretty bad this time - she was off school from Monday thru Thursday this last week, so the doctor will hopefully refer her to have them removed this time. My only problem is that with waiting list times etc, it will leave her having them removed in May - right when her SATs are. So, we may have to ask them not to schedule it for then!

Lucie is doing great too. She has just moved up yet another reading level and is on the last stage of reading books which isn't bad for someone who is only in the first year of Junior School and not yet 8! She has also moved up two groups on her violin class and is steaming ahead! Her ambition at the moment is to play at PASSO along with the other two next year. I kept telling her that she might not make it purely cos she will only be young and it is her first instrument - although the other two got in after playing for a year, or less, it was their 2nd instrument. However, her teacher told her the other day that if she carried on the way she was going then there was no reason why she shouldn't get in!

So, all in all, it has been a very successful start to 2008 - here's hoping it will carry on the same way!!.

Here are a couple of LOs I have done recently. They are all of Lucie actually, but only by chance - will have to do some more of the other two to even it out - gotta treat them all the same!!!

This layout is of a photo of Lucie and Chantel that I took back in September - they are both such posers which is probably why they are such good friends!!!

I just love this layout! I took the photo of Lucie posing with some flowers (weeds!) back in the summer when we were at Petersfield Heath

These photos I took at the school carol concert when Lucie was Mary in the nativity, much to her delight! I think her costume had a touch too much bling, but she was happy!!!

This photo was taken just after Christmas when Lucie and I were playing with her Polly Pocket toys my Dad gave her. It was a special set where you decorated her clothes and accessories with lots of glitter!!!! I did this for the element challenge at gds.
