School Reports!

On Monday, we got the girls' school reports - how fab were they??!!!  Lucie also got her SATs results which I was very impressed with! She always seems to plod along about average, although I know she does read very well.  The average child in Year 2, should achieve a level 2b.  Obviously, children who have birthdays at the beginning of the school year would be expected to get a 2a, and at the younger end, a 2c. Lucie's birthday is in May, making her near the younger end of the year. Anyway, she did amazingly well! For Science, she got a level 3, for Maths a 2a, for reading and speaking/listening she got  level 3s and for writing she got a 2a!!  So much for my average child! 

One thing which did make me giggle was her teachers written comment about her PE - she said "Lucie's favourite part of PE is dance" - never!! Tell us something we don't already know!!   Seriously, though, everything that was said about her was so positive - not just on the academic side, but on the part she plays in the class - it said that she was very popular and always ready to help and to stick up for her friends - just as important as the 'work' side of school as far as I'm concerned!

Emily and Alice's reports were in a slightly different format this year. They were split into different sections for each subject, and these were then marked. The majority of both of their marks were above average with one or two of them being high averages. Again, for summer babies, this was especially fantastic. The individual comments made about them and the effort marks they got were also fantastic!  One shocker were their marks for Art!  I'm no artist and Art was my worst subject at school - but they both got above average marks for their art!!

Anyway, enough tooting my girls - off to read with Lucie then bed!!
