ME AND THEM

Where did it go??

I really don't know where December went and I can't believe that I haven't made a post on here for so long! I am guessing this will probably be a fairly long post seeing as there is so much that has happened!!

Firstly, both Emi's and Lucie's school Christmas plays were brilliant! Emily made a very cute dolly mixture and really enjoyed it, as did Lucie as a musician in hers! I have some great photos and will be making some LOs really soon!!

As I said before, Alice's year don't do a play or anything for the parents to watch, but they did two 'in-school' things. Firstly, they did a 'Christmas Around The World' assembly for the rest of the school which I actually got to hear as I was in school helping that day, and it was very good and lots of fun! They also did a year group talent show. Alice and her friends did a dance to Superstar by Jamelia. When she had been talking about it, I assumed it was just her and a couple of the girls from her dance class - I was wrong! They had persuaded some of the boys to join their group and then taught them one of their dances which they had learnt at their dance lesson! The teachers were that impressed with how well they had all done, that they got them to also perform the dance in front of the whole school in assembly!

Also in school, at the end of each term, one child from each class is awarded and achievement award, and this term, Alice got it! I knew about it and was invited into school to the special assembly where it was awarded. Because it is meant to be a surprise for the children, I made up a little story about being there to award recorder certificates to the younger kids for taking part in their carol concert! However, the kids in Alice's class worked out that I was the only parent there from their class, and so guessed it was Alice getting it!! I took a photo of Alice with their headmaster and her award which I will make a LO of when I get time!! What was really special was that Alice's teacher said that there was no one else in the class she even considered giving it to, and if Alice hadn't been in her class, she wouldn't have known who to give it to!

And then it was Christmas!! We had a fantastic time - we have spent the last few days with various special friends and family and so today are having a 'chill-out' day when we are playing with new toys and games and then tomorrow Em has a friend from school coming round for the day which will be fun, and then we are visiting other friends or they are visiting us over the next few days till the girls go back to school next week!

Life is so busy that I know I have slacked with my CT responsibilities for which I feel rather guilty about, but I will be getting back into the swing of things real quick!! Promise!!
