ME AND THEM

Fantastic weekend!!!

I have had such a fantastic weekend!

On Saturday, Emi and Alice had their orchestra fun day. They hold it at the end of every year and the day ends with their summer concert and awards presentation. They do some rehearsing and they had a conjurer come who was fab! Then they had a picnic lunch and were then treated to a special performance by a professional violinist and (Russian) cellist who really were awesome - and the kids obviously thought so too as they were all completely quiet throughout the whole performance! After some more rehearsing, they were treated to a buffet dinner at a nearby pub restaurant and then it was back to the hall for the concert which was absolutely fantastic! How they get 30-odd kids to play so well together, I don't know, but it was really great!

Then came the awards ceremony, and there were awards given out for various people. The kids (or the committee) have no idea who is going to get the awards, so imagine how exciting it was when they announced the winner of the Directors Cup - it went to Emi!!! She looked so shocked, I thought she was going to faint!!! The cup is fantastic - has her name and the year engraved on it and everything!!!!

Can you tell from her grin on this pic how excited she was???!!! Ok, so she still has red-eye, but haven't got round to editing the pics yet!!!

For the second piece of really exciting news,

I AM AN AUNTY!!!

That's right! At 5.21pm on Saturday (at almost the same time that Emi was getting her award), my sister-in-law gave birth to my long-awaited niece!! She is called Caitlin Hazel (Hazel after my Mum) and weighed a dinky 6lbs 10 oz. She really is such a little poppet! The girls and I just fell in love with her the minute we set eyes on her! The girls couldn't believe how tiny she was (although Alice and Lucie were smaller than her and Emi was only an ounce bigger!). Mum and baby are doing fine, and so is Dad who you can safely say is besotted with her!!

Of course, what you really want to see are photos of her, right?!!!

Here are the proud cousins!!!

And here is proud Aunty Joy - she was so cute just staring up at me as I was talking to her!!! And then, of course, she cried when I left!

And here she is on her own!!!

I promise there will be lots and lots of LOs very very soon!!!
