A Week Of Achievement

What a week!!! Please excuse me for being a bit of a bragging Mum in this post but we have had an awesome week!!!

Last weekend, my girls all did IDTA dance exams. Lucie did her double bronze, Alice her silver and Emi did her double silver. They all really enjoy their dance, so the exams aren't majorally important, but they obviously want to do well - and they sure did that! They got their results on Thursday, and they ALL got HONOURS!!! Can't get better than that!!! Needless to say, there were lots of squeals from them when they came out to tell me! lol!! Lucie's best friend Olivia also got honours for her one dance scarlet award and my cousin Krissy got honours too - can't remember what level she is at though - sorry Krissy!!! The added bonus was their new claim to fame as the examiner they had is also the choreographer and teacher on Strictly Come Dancing!!!

Then, on Friday, at school, I had to go into a special assembly because Lucie was being awarded a STEP award. It stands for Sorry, Thank you, Excuse Me, Please and is given to children who it has been noticed as being exceptionally polite and caring - a real 'feed-good' award! Lucie's teacher was asked to comment on why Lucie was given the award and she said that it was because she was "lively and fun to have in the class, but knew when to not be lively (lol!!) and that she was always smiling and never complained, no matter who she was asked to work with and was always willing to help either teachers or other pupils" So, I was obviously very proud!!

Then, later on on Friday, I got a phone call from the swimming club the girls belong to, and Emi and Alice have both moved up to the next level class - 4 classes in just over a year is pretty impressive - the only pain is that it means their lesson has had to change to a different time, meaning that I will be sitting watching swimming for a whole hour on a Monday evening! But, never mind!

Yesterday was Lucie's 8th birthday - am ot sure where the years go - it doesn't seem that long ago that I was sat in my hospital bed holding my tiny baby girl! She had a birthday party on Friday with 7 of her friends and we all had loads of fun - I am soooo glad I have girls to do all the girly party things with! We decorated cakes and biscuits and played lots of fun games! Yesterday was meant to be a quieteer day but that didn't happen - we had my Dad and some friends come round for coffee and cake in the morning (but they stayed most of the day!!), then Lucie asked for a bbq, so she had a friend come round for that too, and then Colin came round too, and didn't leave till late so everyone was very tired!!!! Will post some photos later and some LOs too of course!!!
