On Tuesday, Alice and Lucie went back to school. Alice has gone into year 6 - the last year at the school and is very excited to have the 'cool teacher' - a young male teacher who all of the kids love! She settled back in with no problems at all, which I knew she would. And now she is looking forward to her year group residential trip in October! For Lucie, it was her first year at Junior School and she was a little bit nervous which is to be expected, but came out at the end of the day full of what a fun day she had!
Then, on Wednesday, it was Emi's turn! She is in Year 7 and so has started at secondary school (the same one that I went to!!) It is a fantastic school with lots of opportunities for academic and extra-curricular things, and she was very excited to be going! Although she didn't have any of her friends going into her class there (she did know some of the kids from her Junior school, but not particular friends) , she was so positive about it! And, when she got home last night, she couldn't stop talking about everything she had done and was going to do! One of the girls who is in her class came from another school but had actually been at Emi's school way back in Year1 and they had been friends then. Well, it looks like the friendship has been rekindled as she is coming over for the evening on Friday!
Anyway, here are some pics of them on their first day!!

Emi with the 2 friends she walks to school with (sorry about the blurred faces - just to protect the kids )

And now it just means loads of work for me and the other teachers to get the recorder lessons sorted out! The Junior School has a new headmistress who is fantastic. We had a meeting with her yesterday and are now trying to work out how to fit everyone in who wants to learn!! And obviously, I have to leave some scrapping time for me too!!!
