The other day, we got Lucie's appointment day through for her to go into hospital for her op - 4 teeth to be extracted on 31st August. Understandably for a 7 year old with bad memories of hospitals (my Mum died in one, and she had a not very nice experience last year when she broke her arm), she is very nervous and gave herself a tummy ache through worrying, so ended up sleeping in my bed that night. Anyway, there we were, me reading whilst she was supposed to be trying to get to sleep. It was quite a hot night, so she asked me if she could take the top of her pyjamas off and just wear the bottoms, to which I said yes. We then had the most hysterical conversation:
Lucie: Mum, when I get married, my boyfriend (I think she probably meant husband seeing as she said they were married!!) and I are going to sleep in separate beds - with a big long curtain down the middle.
Me: Oh, ok, if that's what you both want, I'm sure that will be fine. But why??
Lucie: Because otherwise, in the summer when it's really hot and I want to take my top off, I won't be able to cos I don't want him to see me without my top on!
Now, what do you say to that?????? I'm sure you can imagine the look on my face as I tried my hardest not to laugh out loud!! Bless her heart!!
