As most of you know, I am very proud of my girls and what lovely people they are. However, I am very wary of becoming a bragging mother! I am well aware of my children's faults, just as I am of my own, so I am well aware of the fact that they, or I, are not perfect!
With that said, I just have to say how really proud I am of them and how well they are getting on at school! I had a parent teacher meeting yesterday for both Emi and Alice (Lucie's is at the end of the month), and I am so impressed with what was said about them, not just academically but as them as people too! Both of them are amongst the youngest in their year (in the youngest 10 at least) and both of them have achieved well above average for their year groups in all subjects (in fact, for her reading paper, Alice achieved abouve average - level 5 - for kids a year above her!!).
Whilst I am extremely proud of them for their academic achievements, I am even more proud of what their teachers said about them as people! One of Emi's teachers descibed her as a 'superstar' and said that she always gave 100% in everything she did, and the other said that she was a lovely girl who was a great addition to the class! Alice's teacher said pretty much the same! She said she is always participating in anything that is going on and is always the first to volunteer to help both teachers and other pupils! Now, what more can a parent ask for????!!
Also, to top it all off, I had to go into school this morning to speak to Emi's flute teacher, and whilst we were waiting for her, one of the other teachers walked past. She stopped and said to me " I just want to tell you what gorgeous girls you have. They are always smiling and enjoying life - you are very lucky and should be very proud of them" She then added, as an after-thought "And of course they are very lucky to have you as their Mum"!!! But its true, I am very lucky to have 3 gorgeous girls!!
Ok, my bragging is over - hope I didn't go too OTT about how fab they are - I am not an over-bearing 'my kids are perfect' Mum, I'm just proud of them!!
